time is running short as the year is quickly ending. basketball is now over and another year of uvdt concert has come and gone with nationals in three weeks. i can't believe i have almost finished two years of college and being on the dance team. it's had some up and downs, but the goods definitely outweighed the bad. the week of concert is hard work. it's honestly one of the most physically, mentally, and emotionally, exhausting weeks in my life. it's something that you both dread and can't wait for at the same time. being able to show everyone what we've learned and what we can do is such a good feeling. there were 17 dances this year. the week starts out on monday and ends saturday. monday tuesday and wednesday we practice from 3 to 10 every day. that includes going to school, doing homework, trying to get sleep, and practice. monday we run the first half of the show and set lighting, and tuesday is the second half. these are "tech days". wednesday is dress rehearsal. two full run throughs. lighting, sound, costumes, and timed out breaks just like the show would go. thursday friday and saturday are the shows. call time is 5:30, show time 7:30, and we are usually done by 9:15 ish. time really does fly when you are having fun. this week FLEW by. and i'm sad to see it go. i'm sad to see some of the girls that have become such a huge part of my day and life go. but i am so excited to see what they have in store in the future. i am so grateful to have the opportunity to be on the dance team. i am so grateful for the 16 sisters i have and the light they bring to my life. and lastly i am so eternally grateful for the body i have and the ability to show the world what i absolutely love to do.
