stuck in a rain storm

being a "missionary's girl" is an interesting journey.
anger from being apart, yet there really isn't anything better that could keep you apart.
total heart break from saying goodbye, but once those two years are over nothing could make you happier.
the sense of loss and loneliness, but the comfort of the Lord surrounding you and him.
i'm tellin ya, it's a whirlwind! an earthquake. a blizzard. and currently a typhoon.

lately on the news there has been mention of typhoon haiyan || yolanda. one of the strongest recorded storms ever to make landfall. reported to have killed 10,000 people in the central philippine province of leyte.

sounding a little familiar? well it's been all too familiar to me, and way to close to my heart. literally. the past week all we could do is sit and watch the news and wait for the mission presidents updates on facebook. talk about waiting for the storm to pass. sunday night all was well! i heard from my sweet elder. and of course he played it off like all was fine! although his area wasn't hit by haiyan || yolanda nearly as bad as others, he was still so concerned about everyone other than himself. i sure do love that heart of his! colton has been in the mountains for a while and was moved inland before the storm hit. the eight elders he was housed with all sat on the balcony and watched the storm day after day. he said that when he was able to go back to their place it was flooded but nothing was ruined. they spent the rest of the day clearing all the water out of houses and helping the people who lost their houses due to only being made out of bamboo. the church was opened for those people to stay in and regroup.

tons of service is needed and i wish so badly i could go out and help. i've always had a place in my heart wanting to go out and help after devastating disasters like this. maybe next year after school i will actually be able to do so. but until then all i can do is pray. i pray all those in loss and pain will be comforted because they sure do need it.

please pray for the philippines.
please
xoxo
